Gary, Undoubtedly you are right about being able to purchase 3D S power plug-ins piece at a time. My take on this matter is that: since 3D STudio with its vast array of plug-in is comming closer to competative parity with packages like Wavefront, it seemed obvious that a fully equiped 3D STudio workstation setup (if bought all at once) would cost quite a bit of money. I very much appreciate the way you can buy 3DS in increments. I would not be a 3DS user if I could not do this. I certainly cannot afford Wavefront. But, I am curious about how much a full power package of 3DS would cost. And if that figure was known, Would a bank finance the entire package including a workstation. I wonder if one might offer a fully loaded killer 3DS package with everything. Banks prefer big loans over little loans. Most won't do a business loan for less than 25K…so, because I am now writing articles about Pro Cgi…I am seeking this information. After I compile this figure, I will then be able to spell out what the ultimate capabilities of the such a workstation would be….I would say that it would cover the same, if not more, bases as Wavefront.
