Larry, The model 80 problem could be entirely different. Re: the Compaq. Likeliest problem on a 386/16 is you have one of the defective chips from Intel, which aren't happy with protected-mode programs such as AutoCAD 10-386 or 11-386 (although the hangup point can vary). Run the CHKBSTEP (or whatever) program from your bonus disk. If you have the B1 step chip, best solution is to replace the motherboard or processor. You can bitch to the math coprocessor guys (they're familiar with it) @ Intel, or jump on Compaq. Compaq offered an upgrade at one time, but that expired some time ago.
