If John had said that some PD stuff is bad, I wouldn't be pursuing this.
John keeps saying that "ALL" PD software comes with no docs, no support,
and is inferior. As an author of public domain software, I can take that
personally – John has said that my software comes with no docs and no
support, and is inferior.
Now, I don't generally compete with any commercial software out there –
except maybe ScreenX and Grabbit! 😎 but I do try and write quality stuff.
And support it. I often put my home phone number in the docs, and give
many network addresses where people can get ahold of me. People do call
me, and I try to help them. Being able to talk to the author of the
program usually proves more useful than talking to a tech support person
who is trained to never admit that there might be a bug in their program.
