I had the same problem of the drive not being ready under Windows 3.0
running under DOS 5. I have a CDR 36 and and a T128 interface card. The NEC
technical help line 1-800-366-3632 took the info and said that there was a
ROM upgrade for the T128 and that they would send it to me asap. Give them
a try they were really helpful.
