Some other details that I got after the show, mostly from a dealer
friend of mine (who will go nameless).
* The 4000T got fired up at the show due to crowd pressure at one
point. It booted, and ran some software, and was turned off shortly
afterwards.
* The 4000/030 is being positioned in a weird way. My dealer friend
told me that upon returning home, he talked to his CBM rep.
It seems that although the 4000/040 is easy to get, the /030
is in very short supply (more so than the 1200). Also, the rep told
him the he would do best to price the /030 at $1999, which stikes me
as pretty stupid.
He'll do one for me for under $1800, although I think that the
price is still way too high. Hopefully, CBM will meet its /040
quotas, and drop the price of the '030 AGA machines. Priced at $1500
or below, the machine would really have legs.
