Erik, Gamma correction for monitors is something we are working on quite feverishly in order to standardize our uploaded library image files. We want to ensure that the viewer of the image sees what the creator saw on his/her monitor. We know monitor gamma values differ, and the many different brands/quality of monitors is a consideration in attempting to attain the highest quality product we can offer. If I create an image on my gamma 1.72 monitor, and you view it on your 2.2 gamma monitor…. well… you aren't seeing what I created! You see a bad image. THAT's what gamma correction is all about. We IBM/DOS users are trying, and thought we'd try to learn something of what you folks were doing. That's why I'm interested to hear what the members here have to say about Vince's images. Disappointed so far… not in the images, but the willingness of those who have seen them to comment. I hope more will speak up. I'll bet there are a variety of monitors out there, and the comments might indicate how the images appear on those monitors. Gamma has been ignored much too long, and once addressed, the results are amazing! Thanks so much for your input and reply! – Tom
