Martin, Boy, get another expert! The ATVista uses VRAM for its display memory, and DRAM for VMX. Applications that want a 4M ATVista (I've never sold less than an ATVista 4M since the boards were first available) need the VRAM. The VMX memory can be used by an application for additional image storage (or holding 34010 program code), but will not affect the # of pixels you can display full-screen. Of course, to complicate the issue further, Truevision has announced the digital version of the ATVista @ NAB. Other goodies are on the way, but not announced.
