Hi Eric, Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I spent the whole
weekend fighting a really nasty head cold (when a nose the size of mine gets
congested, it's a _MAJOR_ problem). You should be able to install from the
CD-ROM if you follow these steps: 1) Boot DOS and make sure you can access
your CD-ROM drive. 2) From the root directory of your CD-ROM drive, type
INSTALL 3.5 (if your
A drive is a 1.44 MB floppy) or INSTALL 5.25 (if your A drive is a 1.2
MB floppy). 3) After creating the 2 install diskettes, you must modify the
second
diskette (Diskette 1 – Install from CD-ROM) in this manner:
A) Copy the file SONYB31A.ADD to the diskette. You may need to delete
another file to make room – I suggest one of the Adaptec drivers
(AHA152X.ADD, AHA154X.ADD, AHA164X.ADD, or AHA174X.ADD).
B) Add the proper BASEDEV=SONYB31A.ADD line to the CONFIG.SYS file on
the diskette. Refer to the README.31A file for the proper switch
settings. Also remove the BASEDEV= statements for the files you deleted
in the previous step. 4) That's it. Put the first floppy diskette in your
A drive, make sure the
OS/2 CD is in your 31A, and press <Ctrl><Alt><Del>.
Let me know if you have any further problems with the install. -car-
