Chuck, I really appreciate your assistance in trying to get OS/2 2.1 installation to recognize my Sony CDU-31A. I followed your instructions exactly: 1.) Made the 2 installation disks (a: [5.25]) 2.) Copied over SONYB31A.ADD 3.) Because I deleted ah*.add, I removed those lines from the config.sys 4.) Warmbooted (I can access the CD-ROM through DOS) However, I still get the SYS0318 error. I tried the /A:0 /P:1F88 parameters as in the readme, but still no go. I doubled check the I/O address, and it is correct. I am really stumped as to the problem (at first, I had mistyped in sony31a.add in the config.sys, a logical reason for it not to work, but I corrected to sonyb31a.add).
