Are you looping the cables? I've found the problem with doing that is Creative
doesn't seem to know anything about designing hardware for a noisy environment;
the Soundblaster is a magnet for picking up RF from inside the box.
As far as the 8-bit vs. 16-bit debate, I couldn't tell the difference; most
apps don't support 16-bit anyway. Hell, most games don't even really support
the SB Pro! (not that I *play games* mind you.. 😉
I was really hoping Strike Commander would have the audio pan from left to
right as a jet cruised in front of you..
{BTW: I'm really looking forward to _Echoes_! Why's it trade paperback,
though?}
