Hey there, stranger! What elastics? All there was left of their shorts were puffs of smoke! I'd barely touched on Designer and was thinking of it as "just another add-on" – no criticism implied, but most extensions are add-ons intended for a specific target group – but with Designer, that over-used cliche of "pardigm shift" hardly does it justice. The guys were sitting there shaking their heads in amazement – their whole curriculum(s) just went out the door. The concept of "art to part" has been fulfilled and "drafting" as we used to know it is as inconsequential as a menu pick. Sort of .. "Oh yeah, here's the drawing if you need it." Now we get down to the real issues in our courses – that of teaching students how to design and produce useful goods. Mick was especially good at the session – he was so enthusiastic – to be with such a group of talented, energetic, and skilled people – they just ate up the designer stuff and came back for more. I think he went through a bit of a paradigm shift himself – these are "just" high school teachers but they are leading industry in the Vancouver area. Anybody else going to jump in? What did you think, Bill Henderson? John Daniels? Dave Car? Cheers John
