Mike, If you have anti-lock brakes, chances are you will have an idiot light in your dash that says ANTI-LOCK or something that will light up everytime you start your car telling you that everything is OK. Also, when you brake hard of slippery surfaces, you will feel a very strong pulsating feeling in your brake pedals, this is the computer system pulsating the brakes to prevent wheel lock. As I found out this weekend in our snow, Anti-locks will not prevent slidding entirely. You will not stop any faster than if you were to pulsate the wheels manually with your foot (well, not much faster, since the computer can work faster than the human foot). The advantage of Antilock is in slippery spots on the road, quick braking, etc but not on ice or snow.
