I agree wholeheartedly. It's getting as silly as those little specular highlight / firecracker fuse "spooeys" that dance along the edge of flying logos. But what the client wants, the client gets… Perhaps we should build up a list of other real-world optical defects that might anticipate the next rush of IPAS routines: the "vaseline on the lens" IPAS, the "schmutz on the lens" IPAS, the "index finger over lens" IPAS, the "cheap lens" IPAS, the "shakey camera" IPAS, the "earthquake" IPAS, the "drooping tripod" IPAS, the "JPEG/MPEG artifact" IPAS. I'm sure the Pyros group has done at least one of these, haven't they? 🙂
