Ha ha ha. Perhaps I'll go over to a Lightwave Users' Group meeting (is there
such a thing?) and explain how much better the core 3DS is and how much
flexibility is offered by its open architecture. Then I'll say that I hope I
haven't stirred any hard feelings… <g>
Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Most of the active participants in this forum are
active users of 3DS. I can think of several on the forum who work across
several hardware/software platforms and creative boundaries. 3DS is a VERY
strong package which is VERY affordable and VERY well supported. While many
here work with additional tools to assist in their work (the best tool for the
job…), you will not find much negative feedback here about 3DS.
I will admit that I know little about Lightwave (as you likely know little
about 3ds.) If you are willing to drop your strong negativism, I would be
interested in comparing strengths and weaknesses of our chosen software
packages.

3DS is on its 4th PC version already. Continue to spend some time checking it
out. While it is different than what you are used to, it IS still an excellent
tool.
