Bob, Thanks. You're right, of course. All I had to do was adjust that little knob way at the back of my monitor–the one I set when I bought the thing and totally forgot about since. I work almost exclusively in text mode, and keep the vertical size set to fill the screen in that mode. Resetting it with Chaos on screen fixed everything. Thanks for taking the time with what was basically a silly question. David
