Michael: I'm not sure, but it sounds something like the field order is backwards. It is normal for the stills to be jumpy because the fields are rendered 1/60 sec. apart – the second field is a view of the model at 1/60 sec later than the first frame (assuming standard video 30 at frames/sec.) If you get the order backwards for whatever reason the geometry jumps back and forth from field to field instead of giving you smooth motion. I've seen it when I imported a string of .TGA files into my PAR, (but not when I've rendered directly to the PAR) and I assume that I got the field order screwed up when I imported the frames.
