Funny, my sexy new HP LaserJet 4M seems to print a page as soon as the communication is complete — either on AppleTalk with a friend's Mac, or with the parallel cable on my Amiga. The only time I've seen it “think'' about a page is when I ran a printer speed test program. ProPage 3.0 (on a toady 68000) takes forever to render boxes to PostScript (even direct-to-disk), but as soon as the page number changes the printer emits the page. I want Ethernet at 10 Mbps to my printer…. 🙂
