I recently had an experience like yours, and got help here. Basically, you can use your SB Pro just as a sound board, and keep your present SCSI controller. Just install whatever drivers you need for the sound portion of your card, and ignore the SCSI part. You can connect the audio out of your CD-ROM to the in of the SB using a proprietary cable, or take the easy way out and hook a 1/8" stereo cable from the headphone jack of the CD to the audio in of the SB-Pro.
