James, double California dittos <g>. They will certainly have their work cut out trying to convince people to cough up $7000 for a square pixel (640×480), composite only jpeg board – and you still need a vtr! Am I missing something here? For that kind of money and mere composite quality (versus component, rgb and digital like the Matrox stuff) people are ulikely to take a second look at it. The frame accurate deck, software controller, and targa+ (or Matrox illuminator pro) would be much more attractive at that approximate price point and you'd have a nice vtr. For 30 seconds of video (900 frames) with the latter setup you're looking about 2.5 to 3 hours to lay frame-by-frame but this would be _lossless_, and you'd have the choice of rgb, s-video or composite outputs. No contest, IMHO <g>. However, if they add CCIR601 (720×486 resolution), component, s-video, digital and composite inputs/outputs, and then lower the price a few thousand people might sit up and take notice <g>. I'd be glad to hear other people's opinions on this, especially if I'm missing the value in this product. Martin
