Alec, the safe frame basically represents the area underneath a normal television monitor's bezel (the frame around the monitor). If you render inside of it, you're pretty much guaranteed that the bezel won't clip any of your important stuff. It's a completely separate issue from the resolution you render in, since every TV has a bezel, no matter what res it's displaying. If you're rendering flics to tape via real-time method (out of RAM or off the hard disk), the best res is probably 640×480, via something % MONNCI Network connection interrupted, possible data loss.
