#Flic Files
This is actually Andy Roberts (ex-Autodesk employee) – but I'm logged
on as Foo Katan (he's my new boss).
How are you?? I hope all is well in the Adesk world!!
I'm now at a games development company called BITS doing lots of
really exciting things….
I have a question which I think I know the answer to, but I'll ask it
anyways.
Flic files ARE limited to 256 colours aren't they? The reason I ask
is because I received a flic from someone who swears it's true
colour.
If I create a flic in 3ds2 and select Targa in the Setup, when I
render, I get as expected a number of sequentially numbered targa
files.
AniPro can't handle 24 or 32 bit files (hence the need for aniconv)
so an .flc or .fli can only have at most 256 colours right??
As I understand it, the only way to create a true colour animation would
be to download my sequentially numbered targa files to video using something
like a Diaquest card….
Have I missed something out somewhere or is this guy talking rubbish???
