Thanks to everybody who offered PRONTO assistance to my problem with the
Mitzumi and the Sbpro card. The solution as it happened, came from a
young student at an American university via Internet.
He said: EASY, look at the pinouts of the audio socket on the Mitzumi manual,
then compare them with the audio socket on the SoundBlaster manual…
Sure enough, the conductors are swapped over. SO take a small jewellers
screwdriver, gently lift up the plastic retainers on the white plastic plug
that goes into your SB card. simply swap:
RIGHT GROUND FOR RIGHT CENTRE 3>4
LEFT GROUND FOR LEFT CENTRE 1>2
Seemed to easy, so I just did it. Put in a New Order CD into the Mitzumi,
ran the SBPRO proggy called CDPLYR, and bugger me it worked!!!
SO now I've got Windows audio, Multimedia audio, Dos audio & audio CD audio
if that makes any sense.
Well chuffed this end.
Cheers Nigel
p.s. I also got my SIMTEL120 shareware CD ROM today. This is gonna save me
$$$$'s on my phonebill, and the install routine is fast & seamless.
