Well… to test your problem I ran my internal Mitsumi CD for 3 hours on a
favorite music CD…. My drive wasn't hot to the touch inside or out… Im
thinking you got a bum drive… Although you might want to make sure your case
it cooling it self good enough.. Ever think of getting a second fan? I know
that without my second fan my system would fry. (DX2-66 with 8 slots full and 2
HD's, 2 floppies and a CD..) Other than that… I'd say it was your drive…
