Paul, I got my figures from a computer magazine, but I don't remember which one and I don't know if the figures are accurate. However, the figures that I read about one year ago indicated that there were over 100 million PC/Clones; 20 million Macs; and Amiga and Atari were running neck and neck at about 3 million each. I now understand that Amiga sales are approaching the 4 million mark. However, I also read that only 700,000 Amigas have been sold in the U.S. Again, this is what I read and it could be inaccurate. However, if the figures are correct, 700,000 U.S. Amiga sales doesn't translate to 700,000 U.S. Amiga users. I know very many people who own multiple Amigas. I don't know if it's true for the other platforms, but it seems much of the Amiga's sales are to prior Amiga owners, and that it's not uncommon to find anywhere from 2 to 4 Amigas in one household. So for example, if we say that the average U.S. Amiga user owns 2 Amigas, then there are only about 350,000 Amiga users in the U.S., and this is a relatively insignificant number.
