Thanks for the reply. It convinced me to go ahead and get a PSFC like
you have. I'll admit that I was totally blown away by the quality
difference between Hi8/SVHS and the 3/4" SP; sure, the S-Video
formats have a touch more sharpness, but that sharpness also tends to
magnify the lower quality, IMHO. I shoot my footage on Hi8, and dub
it to 3/4" SP on its very first playing. After that, I can edit and
edit and edit, and see virtually no degradation of quality. I'm
thrilled with the format.
