STEVE, Just 200-250 pounds? This sounds a really incredible offer from GVP. I actually bought mine from POWER computing but as you say, it may not make any difference. I am strongly tempted to go for the new machines. I thought about the 1200 as a quick purchase, but when I calculated the cost of adding the hard drive, the extra 32bit memory and the 68030 accelerator. I'd have been as well just going straight for the A4000-30 – the A4000-40 is well out of reach right now but I assume their prices will fall soon enough. I like the idea of 256 colours or greys on the screen. I have a flicker-fixer and 6Mb now (2Mb chip) and a GVP 286 emulator along with the GVP hard drive and doubt that I will be able to get a good price for it if I sold it anyhow. So I may end up keeping it as it does no harm to have two Amigas. I'm still ruminating about it but I checked out the prices below … UK price 25Mh A4000-30 & 120Mb hard drive = 1026 pounds. UK price A1200 = 375 pounds + 127Mb Drive = 313 pounds + 2Mb memory = 115 pounds + A1230 (40Mh) Turbo = 375 pounds TOTAL = 1178 pounds I think the advantage lies slightly with the A1200 juiced up as it has a faster processer – but the A4000-30 still has all those Zorro slots available, which the A1200 has not.
