He he he he… Considering that my Amigas have spawned more amiga sales to friends, relatives, (countrymen ???), neighbors and business associates and clients, I would have to say that they have done more than their fare share of reproducing! I can directly point to about 30 brand new machines that were purchased after contact with my machines. That's a 10 to one ratio, not shabby at all! Sure some were purchased just to use toaster, but most were purchased for what I call "perceived value". People come to my home or office and see an Amiga running native applications, Mac software, IBM goodies, Windoz, and networking. They think "hey!!!! that's great, 3 for the price of one" ( ok so until now bridgeboard has been kinda high ). It's great for the kids, great for the designer, great for the home videographer… Of course you know all of this… Look at it from a different angle though… I have 3 Amigas, two at home and one at the office… I have two sons a wife and a couple of in laws who regularly use the home machines so that's a minumum of 5 amiga users there. Don't laugh! This is the same way some of those crazy pc user numbers are arrived at! At work, my machine is constantly being "borrowed" for some activity, maybe a quick render of a test layout before it goes to the expensive toys (SGI), or perhaps a new scala design for the next trade show… I would guestimate about 6 more frequent users. So that totals 11 users plus me, that's 12 amiga users. It is very possible to have the numbers flow opposite of the generally accepted norm. Just because there are 40 million pcs doesn't mean there are 40 million users, could be more could be less. Units sold does not equate to total users. Oh well… in the end it really means nothing… If Commodore closed tommorrow I could very happily say that I have managed great value from my machines, had great fun with them, and I could use them for another couple of years with the current software and hardware. Then when the 380mips super clone with os/6 comes out I'll just move along…
