I have jumped into this thread without reading the basic article, so I will
not get into commenting on anything but the sentence above –
I disagree strongly with you. It is far too easy for someone "with
experience" to forget about the steep learning curve of a product, or the
lack of support by the author. Based on _good_ reviews, I purchased
DAC[not very]Easy. I found the program to be impossible to use, the
documentation ommitted some significiant information and Tech support
wanted to charge me for each of the 3 calls I made [all refering to
omissions in the docs].
It _IS_ important that a reviewer spend enough time with a product to get
to know it, and to know how to use it. But years of experience can make
bad memories of learning a package fade.
I nose around this forum because I am interested in a future purchase of 3D
Studio – and I know that users often have a much more objective view of a
product than to journalists.
