#GVP '040 Slooowww!
Wayne:
I think there MUST be something wrong with your system as it is currently
setup.
As I have said before, I just finished a 'rather' intense animation, where
I had to farm out the prject to severale other Toaster Systems.
Without fail, these are the results I got:
68040 – 33 MHZ = 118 min/frame
68040 – 28 MHZ = 100 min/frame
68030 – 40 MHZ = 104 min/frame
The ONLY guy that had problems was a guy that had 4MB of 16 bit RAM. As
soon as he changed a jumper on his board (this was a PPS board), his
performance matched ours. Before the change, he was rendering at about 145
min/frame.
I have had a chance to render some of my scenes using LightWave3. The
speed improvements are on a factor of 3-5 for normal rendering VS. LW2.0
on an 040.
