Use a self-illuminated material on the headlight surfaces. If you want to cast beams of light, create a couple of cones and apply self-illuminated material combined with transparency/outside falloff. When flat-mirror reflections don't work, it's usually because the material exists in the object on two or more non-coplanar faces. Remember that it must be applied to _only_ the coplanar faces of your rear-view mirror. To check, to a Material Show, and take a look at which faces in the object contain the flat-mirror material. If your face assignment is correct, check to make sure that you've got specular color in the material, and that shininess is turned up. If that doesn't do it, make sure you've got objects in the view of the mirror. – Jack
