After applying mapping coordinates to the *liquid* (assuming the tube is
transparent, like glass) *during lofting*, Brian, one could use a combination
of Opacity, Texture, and even a Bump (SXP?) map to simulate many kinds of
movement thru the tube. I'm not intimate with the project, so I couldn't
comment on what would specifically be the proper way to get the appropriate
effect in this case.
That being said, the Schreiber Python PXP sure sounds interesting, and may
replace this sort of procedure for many applications.
