Daniel Skelton, One small thing you forget about innovative Amiga programmers… source code is optional when porting. Yes, it takes longer.. but as far as trade secrets are concerned…this is not a problem as long as there is permission to reproduce the same results. Also, the 'trade secrets' are most often patented (like Adobe did with PhotoShop), meaning that this information is available publically, and protected under patent laws against unlawful use.
