John, I'm plenty into the message; one of the things that attracted me to video in the first place. I presented one perspective on the beer commercial with the Chrylser building but I can see a couple of other intrepretations which might be even more blatant. I get a male view and a female view, so I'll leave it to you to intrepret. Interesting point about the monkey… it is curious that, or so it seems, many of these ads are insulting the very people they are supposedly trying to pursuade. I'm not sure what to make of it, except for some cynicism on the part of the creative directors. <g> I find the Listerine commercial entertaining, and I get the idea that using Listerine is supposed to give you the confidence of Tarzan. On the other hand, I'm not sure the idea of a rampant Listerine bottle terrorizing my bathroom is a comforting thought. I have a collection of little elephants on the bathroom sill, I'm not sure they'd be really happy about it either; they have enough trouble with the toothpaste. <g> -JE
