John, curious! Isn't the Amiga supposed to be the hotbed of piracy while the clone world is pure and virtuous? <BEG>. Anyway, I do like serialization since it quickly allows the software support people to determine the validity of the person calling, especially if it were used in conjunction with a call-back scheme, such as those used by some modems. You know, you call in, the computer notes it, and it calls back to the number that is registered to that user. Might be unworkable, but a novel concept in this application. In any case, it's probably easier to encode the serial number into the software than it is to add dongle support. However, do keep in mind my sugggestions on pro-rating it. If you do find an inordinately high level of piracy early on, it's definitely time to rethink the strategy. "You do trust me, don't you? Of course you do." — "To Play the King" (BBC)
