I think it is part and parcel of the monitor design. I've put several
animations to Beta Sp and while I can't say I've specifically looked for the
problems you've noticed, I can say that the output does not look distorted with
regard to line widths. I'd see if you couldn't compare the output on another
monitor. FWIW
