Up until now, dos compatiblity was necessary. However, most current software has a Windows version. Much of the current software is focusing on the Windows version, and only giving lip service to the dos versions. Now is the time to bring out an OS that does not use the old MS dos restricition and hobbles of backwards compatibility. The performance alone should make the non dos users who run essentially 100% Windows applications purchase it. That alone should be a significant market. Dos is dying, it's time to bury it.
