>> What if, for example, I do a line drawing in a paint program and CONVERT
IMAGE into the detail editor…do I have to do it with ADD FACES or can I use
the FILL TO EDGE LINE?
You can use FILL TO EDGE LINE for this too, however if you have several closed
sets of lines (for example if you CONVERT an image that contains text), you'll
have to face each closed set separately (each letter in the previous example).
Just select any number of edges (just not all of them) so that the selected
edges are all connected (or consecutive, however you want to look at it). Then
select SET EDGE LINE. Then, select the edges that you didn't select the first
time. Select FILL TO EDGE LINE. That's all there is too it. BTW, this method
works fine for non-morphing objects, but if you want to bone and/or morph
STATES of the object, you're better off defining the faces yourself. You'll
see what I mean when you try it <g>.
