Just to balance the conversation, I'd like to say that I think Pennello does
have a lot going for it. It has an innovative and well designed interface, and
can do some really wonderful effects. It seems to have been pretty bug free for
those who have bought it, and they took the time to create a large, well done
manual with several examples.
Pricing-wise, at $1000 it was not an impulse-buy. Animators would buy it when
and if a director asked for the effects that Pennello can do, particularly
painterized live video. This isn't a common request, and that means it won't
get a large number of the installed 3DS users to buy it.
