Thanks for the reply Katherine. My machine is is equipped with 8 megs
ram, 256kb motherboard cache, and I use QEMM quarterdeck memory mgnt.
I did try stripping my config.sys to the bare bones and did place the lines
in different order. all to no avail. The CDROM drive is the only
Radio Shack item in my system(The cheap one they were selling for $199
What is so baffling is the ability of this to run smoothly on my 386
with the same memory, etc.!! Tandy tech support doesn't appear to have
much more expertise then the local sales rep! I am going to put it back in
my 386 machine and buy a quality, supported ROM Drive for my
486!! It has been to time comsuming for such a MICKEY MOUSE problem.
