Hi John, The video transmitter board cost US$139, another US$39 for the sound subcarrier board. These are assembled boards with no cases, connectors, or anything else. Tuneable receive downconverter was another US$99 and is assembled in a case with connectors. This equipment does require a license. It is covered under my Amateur radio license, and must be used accordingly, i.e. no business use. Don't know enough about unlicensed S-S RF modems to have any idea of kind of range they can reliably cover. How modern is your TelCo provider? Maybe they have ISDN services. This should give reliable, high speed, and secure connection to your office. My local TelCo office is all relays – don't even have caller id here. Should be coming into the 20th century by the end of '96. The closest internet provider I know of is 6 times as far away as your provider, thus I am not on there at this time. My CIS node is about 20 times further than your internet provider – long live AutoPilot! Hmmm.. six to eight blocks, eh. Do you have direct line of sight?
