You can't really blame Final Writer for this, since Esc is not an Amiga standard for Cancel. PageStream3 doesn't use it either. In v2.2, we used Esc to clear a text gadget, but that was a holdover from the Atari version, so we eliminated that in 3.0. We didn't use Esc for anything else in 3.0's requesters because it might confuse people switching from 2.2. (Several people complained that Esc was broken, since they didn't know to use Rt Amiga X.) But it's been long enough now that we can probably use Esc again, and since we'll need to use it to cancel dialog boxes in the Mac version, I requested today that it be added to the Amiga version, too.
