Well, since you insist…
I first heard this story in the early 1950's .. since then, it's made
occasional appearances, including a short-lived TV series about six years back
called "No Soap .. Radio".
Ahem. <clearing throat>.
There were two lions in the bathtub. One lion said to the other, "Would you
pass the soap, please?" The second replied, "Sorry, but there is no soap". To
which the first replied, "Well, in that case, turn on the radio".
I am assured that the point of the above story, if there is one, has nothing
to do with soap operas. I've seen this one appear from time to time with minor
variations. It could well be a hoax. If you can figure out any point to it,
let me know.
