Thanks for the response. I have worked with a "big guns' system at the post house I use. The Lightworks system. Of course now I never want to go back to the old way. Lightworks is an incredibly over priced turnkey system on the pc. What even makes their pc worth so much? Well like you say, what multi million dollar facility is going to waste time looking for a bargain. "It's the most expensive, so it must be the best. And that's what our customers expext to see." There prices are also based on the fact they don't sell one everyday. Which doesn't make sense as the kind of people that buy them are born every minute. (a joke) So for my puposes, I'm just conserned with putting out a bullet proof EDL and a fairly decent output to tape to show rough drafts. Say 3/4 in. quality. If you think Priemier will give me that, than that's what I'll get.
