The Fast system tested in the DV article included the DPR and two 2GB Seagate
drives for full NLE editing. They indicated that the VM boards and software
totaled $15,295, with the whole system costing $35,495. This would require
$20,200 for the computer and drives. Since the 2GB Quantum's I sell go for less
than $2000 each (that's $4000) I to wonder how the DV system reached the
$35,495 figure. Maybe a letter to the editor is in order.
