Thank you John for your reply and the information provided.
Had I known that all of the consumer capture cards are able to provide quality
non-linear editing but without professional quality output, I would not have
purchased the equipment to become a video editor.
After becoming disabled in January, I decided to use my previously
obtained video skills to make some side money at home while recuperating. I
researched the components for the project, figured in my budget and went out to
purchase the final list using the money recieved from selling my business.
The TR 700 camera and Sony Svhs Vcr are of the quality I need, but the
Miro DC1 system is the weak point in my system. In asking questions at the
local computer stores, I was steered to the DC1 as the best example of the
products available at this time. The DC1 box showed all of it's features, but
unfortunatly didn't give any indication that the quality of output was not what
one would imagine from a $600 board.
I'm glad I found this forum. Now I can start to recuperate from my
purchase mistake and when I get back on my feet (money wise) in about a year,
mabye the products available by then will be of higher quality.
Thanks Again
Mitchell Wilson (Executive DeskTop Video)
