Hi Brian! [a prelude: Lemme say, straight off, I am an ADESK supporter and have been using ADESK products for years, so I am not bashing you people here at all.] [several intro's] [1] I am an Animator Pro user who ordered Animator Studio then, before it shipped, started reading messages saying that it just, flat out, would not run under Windows 95. I asked my dealer to hold the order and to check out this claim of non-compatibility. She came back with a very vague "party line" <g> type of comment that it was a Windows 3.1 application. I canceled my order pending more info because I _only_ run Windows 95 now. [an aside: I run 3DS from Windows 95 and/or DOS 7 _all_ the time, w/o problems (mostly <g>)] [2] I also read a reply to a message that you apparently sent another user but I missed, that the $295 migration program to AS is a limited time deal. My questions are: 1) How long will this "deal" last? And, if I order it but can't use it until you upgrade it to at least WIN32S, which oughta run w/ W95 will I have yet another upgrade fee… just to be able to use for the first time… 6 or 8 months from now?!? 2) And, (please give a straight answer here if at all "possible") will it run _at all_ under W95, or is it completely out of the question? There are 400,000 of use beta/preview users out here _right now_ and inquiring minds wanna know. So far I haven't found any W3.1 programs that won't run under W95 so I am inclined to think that it _will_ run. But, on the outside chance that it simply won't run, I really have better things to do w/ my $295 over the next 1/2 to 3/4 of a year (esp. if we get clipped for more upgrade fees later on). If I buy it but can't make it run, can I return it, only to turn around and buy the upgrade later on? I am inclined to think that returning it would tick-off my dealer, but… Please give me some guidance with this issue. [commentary, stepping up to the podium] I have to say that, IMHO, this has been a very big mistake on ADESK's part. All "good" w3.1 products now use WIN32S and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why y'all would release a "cutting edge" product that uses out-of-date 16 bit technology.
