Okay, are you through being heartless and cynical now? Let's be realistic and look at it from _our_ perspective. Rick Stiles wrote one h*ll of a good editor, and placed it into "almost" public domain. He asked for donations from anyone who feels the program is worthy. I think anyone who is _using_ UEdit by default considers it useful, and should get off their wallets and send him some money. To not do so does potential harm to the future of shareware for the Amiga. Any question as to whether Rick Stiles is without a full complement of marbles, was naive, is just stringing us along, or really is an okay guy who's between a rock and a hard place does not even have to enter into the issue. It's very easy to be heartless and cynical. Lots of people are _very_ good at it. It's much tougher to look at the whole issue from all available sides. I'm not sure I've done it correctly once in my life. But I can darn sure see that this man has produced what many consider a good product, that shareware is a _joint_ proposition, and if we don't do our honest part, it'll go the way of the dinosaurs. I, for one, don't want that to happen.
