Jerry. I have seen a simular problem with HP drives. If you don't have
any drive select jumpers installed the drive will answer back as 6
different devices. Try scanning the scsi bus ( rom routine on the adaptec )
I'll bet it will look like you have 7 hard drives. Just put a jumper on
drive select 0 on the drive and you will be in business. If you don't have
the docs on the drive just scan the scsi bus to see what effect the jumpers
have, it is necessary to power down the drive after changing the jumpers.
