Yes, the next generation of chips is going to be nice. Add MIPS to the list that I gave (Power PC, Alpha AXP & Pentium) since I just found out that Silicon Graphics has been contracted by Time Warner to do the interactive computer hardware for the proposed fiber-optic cable nets here in Central FLorida. They're supposed to use MIPS processors. Kaleida (a joint venture between IBM & Apple) is also in on the deal with controlling software. Commodore could have a distinct advantage with a new computer simply because everyone else is figuring these super-fast RISC processors are good enough by themselves. They're all nice, but if Commodore can add chips that meet the published "specs" of the AAA for handling graphics, sound and periphery then it could be unbeatable in power. -Chas
