If you're already on the network (since you mentioned trying to install a drive on computers, plural), there's a software switch for mscdex that you may need, /S, used in networking situations. 'Fraid I don't know much more than that about it, other than a bit mentioned in my file Laser3.txt in Lib #4. Hope that might provide a clue.
